I was beyond thrilled when Tom Ford, one of my all time favourite makeup brands, invited me to collaborate with them on a spring makeup tutorial for Harrods website. We filmed it last December and I’m so happy that it’s finally gone live!

The focus of the look is the pink eye shadow, one of this season’s key trends that can sometimes be a scary colour to wear – but fear not! I must say it’s one of my favourite ways to enhance the eyes in a subtle, feminine and non-obvious way, and totally worth trying.

The trick is to balance the pink with browns and enhance the lashes with black mascara. Also, make sure you concealed any redness present on the skin, especially around the nose.

I did a daytime look as well as a dialled up version for night, with brown pencil around the eyes and a touch of sparkle on the eyelids. I hope you enjoy the tutorial and below there’s a list of the products I used. Here is the full article on Harrods website.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Umbria, in Italy, with Fresh Cosmetics, and it was one of the most amazing press trips I’ve ever been to – so glad I decided to vlog it to share all these experiences with you!

Fresh is such a special brand and I love so many of their products – the masks, the Soy Face Cleanser, all the lip scrubs and balms… So it was a real treat to be with them in Umbria to learn literally everything about the Umbrian Clay range, from an off road experience to visit the source of the clay to a tour of the facilities where it’s processed to then be turned into products that are such cult classics, know for their purifying and clearing (without making skin dry) properties.

We also had a first glimpse of a limited edition packaging & clay pot for the mask, done in collaboration with Ceramiche Rometti, hang out with Lev and Alina, Fresh founders, and as if this wasn’t enough, had some incredible experiences like going to a spa inside Roman ruins from the first century AD, truffle hunting and even a detour to Rome for gelato on our way to the airport! I hope you like the vlog ;)

The Umbrian Clay range is available here – the limited edition Umbrian Clay Mask is launching in May, if you want to buy it two weeks early email ukcustomerservices@fresh.com to be put on the waiting list!

A peculiar Oscar night, to say the least… But we can always count on the most watched red carpet of the year for some good inspirations for hair and makeup.

I loved Emma Stone’s deep red lipstick (lip liner in Karekare + Audacious lipstick in Mona by Nars), Emily Ratajkowski’s amazing smoky eye, Hailee Steinfeld’s super beautiful neutral smoky eye, Diane Kruger’s short hair with waves…

“Weird” lipsticks are definitely a trend – it seems that suddenly everybody got tired of reds, pinks and corals, which are now considered to be basic, and turned to super bold and interesting shades.

Black, blue, grey, purple… Even the nude got its own twisted version, with a touch of grey or purple. The 90s brown, MIA for years, also came back with this new trend. I love that this reminds us we don’t need to stick with the so called normal lipsticks – there is a whole world of shades to be explored! Including the yellow, the green, the white…

This trend went viral mainly because of social media, there’s no denying that – Kylie Jenner with her brand Kylie Cosmetics is one to blame, for sure, but it just spread like wildfire everywhere and now all the brands have their own versions of the “weird” lipsticks, so now they are quite easy to find.

Before I start, I must admit that this lipstick was in fact on my wishlist at the time of conceiving the post, but since then I’ve bought it, fallen in love, used several times, etc – it was even featured on the Crazy for red lipstick video. But I decided to share the post anyway, as I figure everyone is always looking for a great new red lipstick to try, right?

So the beautiful Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Mysterious Red went straight to my wishlist when I saw these two photos of both Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Amber Heard wearing it – if they approve of the shade (and look so damn good wearing it), I mean, it’s just instant desire.

This range of pencil-style lipsticks from Nars was already a favourite of mine, they’re just so pigmented, velvety matte (no wonder that’s the name) and easy to apply, and this red is just perfection, deep and warmer than a classic pure red. I bought mine at Space NK in London.

And take note: Nars is launching 10 new shades soon, I’ve previewed some of them and they’re totally lust worthy – will share my favourites in the near future!
