My favorites at the Met Gala

The Met Gala, the most expected and commented red carpet in the fashion world – and nowadays in the celebrity world as well! – took place last night in New York. The gala marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit, that this year is “China: Through the Looking Glass” and has as theme (do I really need to say?) the fashion inspired in China.

The Met is like a mix of Oscars and a costume party, and because it’s a fashion party, there is more creativity involved that in a film awards ceremony. It’s not mandatory but, normally, the guests were clothes and/or makeup and hair that is a reference to the exhibition – this year there were a lot of very straight hairstyles or very sleek buns (that leave the eyes a bit more almond shaped!), interesting eyeliners, defined brows and red and wine lipsticks.

Here are the 21 women that for some reason grabbed my attention!

Rihanna with a wonderful eyeliner, pinkish eyeshadow and square brows to give her an asian look, with her hair down and an accessory

Olivia Wilde with a great cat eye-smoky or smoky- cat eye. Beautiful, right? I even felt like copying it! And a very straight hair with a scarf

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley giving us all a lesson in contour - I love the look as a whole, sleek hair tied in a low bun, a not so intense wine lipstick and defined lashes and brows

Jennifer Lawrence had a high and full bun that I love and hadn’t shown up on the red carpet for a while...

...and a close up of Jen Law’s makeup, that I always refer as a great example for the girls with hooded eyes! Very illuminated smoky eye, white eye pencil on the waterline and defined lashes + pink lipstick

Poppy Delevingne also had a high bun, loved it! The makeup is beautiful, a warm smoky in shades of gold

Kendall Jenner with one of my favourite makeup styles, illuminated skin and a discrete eyeliner + very straight hair

Emily Ratajkowski with the neutral, basic and beautiful smoky eye that always goes well with anything - it really highlighted her figure and brown eyes + tanned skin

I don’t know what you think, but I loved this high ponytail on Beyoncé! For the makeup she wet with eyeliner + false lashes on the external corner of the eye, to make the eyes look more almond shaped

Another different look that I loved was this dress with a hoodie that Anne Hathaway wore, together with dark hair parted perfectly and soft makeup

Sarah Jessica Parker had a very bold headpiece and a light green smoky eye with very defined lashes and contour in black - this is a great formula for the ones with small eyes
