Vic loves…
TO WASH YOUR FACE
What: Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser
Brand: Sunday Riley
Why: Sunday Riley is a brand I’ve always wanted to try, I know so many people praise their products, it really is one of those brands with a cult status. Brief bio: it was created by the american chemist Sunday Riley (aha!) with the intention of bringing the best natural ingredients and the best technologies for really high performance products – you only need to go through a few online reviews to conclude she reached her goal. I became a convert a few months back when I tried the Ceramic Slip, a perfectly balanced cleanser that is effective, but doesn’t dry the skin, thanks to the mix of refined French green clay and essencial oils, among other ingredients. My skin is more on the dry side, but I would say it works well for any skin type. I use it on its own, it’s already great and leaves your skin clean and feeling baby soft, or for a more powerful result, with the Foreo Luna Mini device (which will be featured in a “Vic loves” soon, I really like it cause it cleanses well, but it’s not aggressive!). Available at Space NK and at Cult Beauty.
FOR A HAPPIER BATH
What: Shower Oil
Brand: Jo Malone
Why: Jo Malone’s recently launched Shower Oil already became a favourite of mine… I love using incredibly nice smelling products with wonderful textures in the shower, to transform this daily moment into something a bit more special, and Shower Oil is perfect for that. The texture is between an oil and a shower gel – dense, but when mixed with water turns into a foam and spreads easily, it’s rich and moisturising – and the fragrance is really special (I must say I’m a big fan of Jo Malone’s scents), strong, but not overpowering and long lasting on your skin. I am using Peony & Blush Suede, a beautiful floral, and there are also versions of the Lime Basil & Mandarin and Blackberry & Bay fragrances. You can find it here.
FOR GREAT DEWY SKIN
What: Facial Illuminator Liquid Sun Make B
Brand: O Boticário
Why: I was in Fernando de Noronha, in Brazil, for New Year’s Eve when my friend Camila Coutinho showed up, ready for the party, with the most beautiful and luminous skin. I was like “WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT”, and turns out it was this one above, the Make B liquid highlighter from brazilian brand O Boticário. It has a bronze shade that I initially thought would be too dark for my super pale complexion, but for a summer tanned (with bronzer) skin it’s just perfect, and it has a very dramatic effect – in the best possible way. Sadly, it is a limited edition from the summer collection, but I’m hoping they’ll have it on the regular line at some point. You can buy O Boticário in Europe through their Portuguese website here.
