Oscar 2015 – makeup and hairstyles
And here are (I think most of) the makeup and hairstyles of Oscars 2015! I liked several of them, I think it yielded some good inspiration in a more basic way like the Oscars beauty is – not to contrast with the dresses -, but with some interesting twists.
Let’s go, with the traditional photos that get huge if you click on them (and some kind of order of the most favorite ones!)
Julianne Moore looking like someone who was gonna win an Oscar – like I imagines, she spent the whole award season sporting several versions of loose hair, but at the Oscars she showed up with an updo! I loved this plan. Low bun, parted on the side and very chic
Julianne Moore, best actress, with a best actress makeup – it is more or less the equivalent of a bride’s makeup, I would say… Soft, pretty, chic, neutral shades, highlighted lashes, fresh skin, pink lipstick
Emma Stone, always one of my favorites. I loved this asymmetric hairstyle with waves + soft makeup, looks like she only has false lashes and a touch of warm and shimmery eyeshadow and a coral lipstick that went super well with the color of her hair and of her dress
Detail of Emma’s hair from the side…
I really loved Reese Witherspoon’s hairstyle, a typical dramatic loose that I always recommend for people who don’t like to have the hair up, but who don’t want to look too casual. Soft waves, parted on the middle and holding the front behind the ear
Lupita had a silver smokey eye that super illuminated darker skin, plus wine lipstick and pinky cheeks
Margot Robbie had straight loose hair – loved the haircut – and simple eyes + bold lipstick (I read it is Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Raven)
I loved Marion Cotillard’s hairstyle, twisted on one side moving a bit down. For her makeup, a clean eyeliner
…and from the other side, without anything! Very pretty right?
Sienna Miller had her hair up in a very charming twist and a gorgeous smokey eye very black close to the lashes + pinky nude lipstick
I got this photo to show Sienna’s updo from another angle!I think it’s gorgeous…
Gwyneth Paltrow had the kind of minimalistic hairstyle she likes, very straight and behind the ear, and a darker eye makeup with false lashes
I found Jennifer Lopez’s very pretty, all in shades of pink and dark really just on the lashes. Soft and super beautifying
Jennifer Lopez from the side – I loved the ponytail, with just enough volume! The elastic could’ve been a bit more covered no? On a second thought I don’t mind bobby pins, so perhaps I’ll start revealing the elastic hahaha
Dakota Johnson also had a ponytail which I loved, hers was a bit more relaxed and that complemented the dress nicely, and the red lipstick (that in this photo looks less red than on TV)
Cate Blanchett, magnanimous diva, always kills it – I think! – and had an updo with a “fluffy” top kinda like a bouffant + mysterious looking makeup using taupe eyeshadow close to the lower lashes (and her always perfect skin)
Anna Kendrick with grey/shimmer smokey eye, black eye pencil on the waterline and false lashes + pink blush and lips
Anna from the side, for you to see a bit of her updo without being a bun and with a higher root – I love this kind of updo that isn’t a bun!
Felicity Jones had some kind of a smokey eyeliner, basic and pretty, and her hair up in a bun, but with bangs
Felicity Jones’bun of the buns – simple and always chic
Keira Knightley followed the same line of the rest of the award season, loose hair (with a cute accessory) and neutral smokey eye
Naomi Watts was another one who went for the loose hair – another haircut I loved -, but with more relaxed waves and a stain wine lipstick and bold lashes
Jessica Chastain with brown contoured eyes, champagne eyeshadow and false lashes + pink lipstick and loose and very normal hair even
Lady Gaga with a very restrained look, I love this hair covering the ears and I thought her makeup was beautiful, classic but a bit more exaggerated than the ones her red carpet colleagues had, after all she is Gaga!
Another singer with beautiful makeup, Rita Ora had perfect skin, contour, nude lips and a more dramatic eyeliner (but a bit less than what she usually wears). Hair also close to the scalp parted on the side
Solange Knowles was gorgeous with her trademark hairstyle + black makeup close to the lashes all around the eyes and red lipstick matching the color of the dress
I always love Zoe Saldana’s updos, it’s a shame I couldn’t find a better photo from the side/back yet – but it is an updo without a bun also, with the front loose. For her makeup, classic smokey eye with beige eye pencil on the waterline
Here is a better photo of the updo!
Rosamund Pike had a simple bun on the middle of the head, I love these roots in kind of sleek and with volume. And shaved underneath, very modern
Scarlett Johansson, on the other hand, has the sides shaved, and went with a slicked-back look on top. Soft makeup, neutral shades and not so many false lashes, something rare that night!
Detail of Scarlett’s hair, shaves on the sides and underneath
Jenny Chung is a great inspiration for Asian women, lots of false lashes and defined brows – and peeerfect skin. Old Holywood hairstyle with waves and parted on the side
Chloé Grace Moretz super cute and age appropriate with a soft makeup in shades of pink and a bit of emphasis on the lashes
Behati with a sleek bun close to the scalp, low and in braids and a makeup with a bold red lipstick…
…and from the front, for you to check better the soft makeup with full focus on the lips
Another version of the low sleek bun on Karolina Kurkova
Jennifer Aniston looking gorgeous and veeery basic with loose and straight hair and soft makeup
Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing’s wife, had a coral lipstick and a perfect smokey eye, pretty illuminated skin and what seems to be a brown eye pencil on the waterline
For the hair, a low ponytail parted on the middle, low on the front and with a bit of volume on the back
Which one did you like the most? Who did you miss? Later there will be a post with the looks on the Oscars after parties!
