Kind nail polishes
Once in a while I get asked for tips on nail polishes that won’t give you an allergy – one of the most common allergies regarding cosmetics is with nail polishes, and it can even show up in other places besides the nails, since they end up getting in touch with several other body parts.
Lots of times the allergy is associated with specific components – so nowadays we can already find several 3-free nail polishes (without toluene, DBP and formaldehyde), and there are also the 5-free, that also don’t have formaldehyde resin and camphor. But it’s not easy, there are people who have allergy even to nail polishes without these ingredients – the best is really to try and check… But when I was doing my research for this post, I ended up finding new/less known brands that, besides being 3-free or 5-free, have natural, organic and/or vegan formulas. I thought it was nice because sometimes these factures also have an influence on the intolerance, and even if you don’t have any allergies might still prefer a more natural products! Detail: all of them have gorgeous color options!
Scotch Naturals
They’re water-based instead of solvent-based like the regular nail polishes, which guarantees an even more natural formula. There are 39 shades and I loved the bottle! More info on theirwebsite.
Nailberry
This British brand does 4-free nail polishes, I also loved the bottle and the beautiful color options! They have a salon in South Kensington, in London, and you can find it for sale at BonMarché in Paris. More info on their website.
Priti NYC
I got to know this brand some time ago when I read that Natalie Portman, who is vegan, was a fan. Besides being organic, vegan and cruelty free, there are more than 100 shades/finish options – and the soy-based remover is also famous. More info on their website.
Kure Bazaar
The founder created this French brand when she got pregnant and started to really worry about what she was using in terms of cosmetics (I think it happens to a lot of people!). The idea was to create natural and kind nail polishes, with pretty and trendy colors, and high performance. There are several sale points in France, besides two salons in Paris, one at Bon Marché and one at Park Hyatt, you can find them also at Selfridges in London. More info on their website.
Eve Snow
Another British brand, it’s 3-free, cruelty free and its formule includes ingredients like argan oiland vitamine E to enhance the nail – the color selection is a bit smaller. You find it for sale in several Boots, more info on their website.
