British makeup artist Val Garland is one of the most important and respected professionals on the international fashion scene, she is responsible for many fashion shows, editorials and important campaigns and she is one of those people everybody loves. I’ve had the chance to watch her live in action several times during fashion weeks and to interview her and it is always like a lesson!

Val had the great idea to share all her knowledge in a virtual course (yes, virtual!!) for professional makeup artists. The Val Garland School of Make-Up will last 3 months and it will take place at Mastered, a new British online fashion school that, for being online, takes students from the whole world! I find this very nice and thought that perhaps there could be interested people among my dear readers ;)

There will be 13 lessons and what I thought to be the most interesting – and rich for the ones who want to get into this world – is that Val will not only approach makeup techniques, but also creativity, how to understand a brief, the craziness of fashion weeks, the relationship with the media, stylists and photographers and even how to develop your own line, with amazing special guests such as the top photographer Nick Knight, living-legend-designer Vivienne Westwood and the teams from i-D magazine and Nars.

You can find all the details on the course here on the Mastered website – the classes are weekly, will start on may 15 and end on August 15. To participate you need to subscribe online until May 10, they will make a triage and select the students.
